Behold the Pack 3 Facebook Group

posted Feb 20, 2017, 2:58 PM by Webster Pack   [ updated Feb 20, 2017, 2:59 PM ]

Hi, Pack 3 Parents.

I just wanted to let you know that we're trying out an experiment at the end of the scouting year: we have created a Facebook group.

We think this might be an easier way for parents to stay in touch with the pack, since most of you are on Facebook anyway.

Our website and email list are quite cumbersome to manage (and the current manager will retire next year).

We strongly encourage parents to join the Facebook group. If things work well, we will likely transition to it next year. (Or really, unless things don't go well, we will transition to it next year.)

The Facebook group is a "closed group": you can search for it and find it, but you can't see any posts in it until you become a member. Only administrators (Poojan Wagh and Tom Wilmot) can make you a member. To do so, please search "Cub Scouts Pack 3 - St. Catherine's" in Facebook and request membership. Or better yet, here's a direct link to it:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/120194608501501/
Do this right now, or you will be left out of the loop.

If anyone has any qualms or concerns with Facebook, please let us know by emailing:
webmaster@st-cath-cubscouts.net

Poojan has already added people he is Facebook friends with. Everyone else should click the link above and request membership (and count themselves lucky that they're not FB friends with Poojan—he's kind of full of himself). Note that you do not need to be FB friends with any members of the pack to get access to the group. (You do need a Facebook account, though.)

Pack & Parent/Leader Meetings Thursday February 16, 2017

Please plan to attend the Pack meeting this Thursday at 7pm in the Cry Room off the Narthex at St. Catherine's.  We will keep the meeting brief and we will have Deacon Fox as a special guest.  The Wolves will present the Colors, so please arrive a bit early if possible.

Please plan to stay for a Parent/Leader meeting immediately afterwards.

Hi, Scout families.

2017 Scout Sunday

posted Feb 2, 2017, 7:15 AM by Webster Pack   [ updated Feb 2, 2017, 7:17 AM ]

Scout Sunday will be February 5th. Scouts (and their families) should arrive at 11:00 AM in the St. Catherine of Siena Narthex. Scouts will be attending the 11:30 AM mass.

Scouts and leaders will process in with Fr. Gow. The Scouts will sit with leaders as a group. After mass, we will not process out; we suggest staying later to take a picture at the front of church after church clears out.

Leaders: if there are any religious medals your scouts have earned, they will be handed out during Mass. Please let Jenny Wagh know or email Poojan Wagh by Friday night (February 3rd).

Scout Sunday is a fantastic way to celebrate our faith and acknowledge the unique achievements our Cub Scouts make towards that faith.

First Responders Recognition Ceremony

posted Jan 22, 2017, 6:57 PM by Cubmaster Pack3   [ updated Jan 22, 2017, 7:04 PM ]

The Cub Scouts have been asked to participate in this wonderful opportunity to recognize our first responders. They are looking for 5 Cub Scouts to read a personalized thank you letter to the men and women who have dedicated their lives to our community. These letters were written by the children of St. Catherine and are sure to be a touching tribute. This event is on Saturday, January 28th at 7:30pm in the church. We would love to have all Scouts and their families attend if possible.

Please email Don Tentler at cubmaster@st-cath-cubscouts.net the by Thursday, January 26th if you and your Scout are able to attend.bm
